According to CNN, which cited confirmation from the corporation, Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta has contributed $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration fund. The gift was made two weeks after Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of the business, met privately with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
The Wall Street Journal was the first to report on the donation.
According to the CNN article, Zuckerberg seems to be looking for a more significant position in the Trump government, maybe one that involves helping to shape tech policy.
This is a big change from almost four years ago, when Meta removed Trump from its platforms after the uprising on January 6, 2021.
Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump had dinner at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida on Wednesday. During the visit, Zuckerberg met with Trump and his staff, a Meta spokeswoman said. Although the specifics of their conversation were not made public, the spokesperson said the meeting was taking place at a critical juncture for American innovation. Zuckerberg did not remain for Thanksgiving, they noted.
