Yuva Sangam Phase III Registration Portal Launched to Strengthen Inter-State Bonds

On October 18, the Phase III of Yuva Sangam registration portal under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) was launched. The Indian government launched the Yuva Sangam programme to improve interpersonal relationships between young people from various States and Union Territories.

To take part in the upcoming Phase, interested youngsters between the ages of 18 and 30—primarily students, NSS/NYKS volunteers, working or self-employed individuals, etc.—may register through the YUVA SANGAM portal.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi initiated the idea of a sustained cultural connection between people from different regions during the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in 2015.

The Education Broadcasting Board (EBSB) was launched in 2016 to promote this idea. Yuva Sangam, launched under EBSB, focuses on experiential learning and embracing India’s rich diversity. It offers an immersive experience of life, natural landforms, development landmarks, recent achievements, and youth connections in the host state.

In Phase III, twenty eminent institutions across India will host participants from 20 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) visiting 22 states and UTs. The initiative organizes exposure tours for youth, including on-campus and off-campus students, from one state to another, providing multi-dimensional exposure under five broad areas: Tourism, Traditions, Development, People-to-people connect, and Technology.

The participating ministries of EBSB include the Ministry of Education, Home Affairs, Culture, Tourism, Youth Affairs & Sports, I&B, and Railways. The Ministry of Education selects youth and conducts tours through Higher Education Institutes.

Yuva Sangam, organized collaboratively on the model of Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS), has received immense response and participation from all corners of India. Over 3,240 people have participated in 73 tours, including the pilot phase under EBSB.

The initiative has also fostered volunteerism among the youth, with Yuva Sangam delegates volunteering intensively in various nation-building activities.
