The Ministry of Education today inaugurated the registration portal for Phase IV of Yuva Sangam, which falls under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB). Yuva Sangam is a government project to enhance people-to-people connections among youth from various Indian states and union territories.
Interested youth between the ages of 18 and 30, mostly students, NSS/NYKS volunteers, employed/self-employed individuals, etc., can register through the YUVA SANGAM site to participate in the next Phase of this unique program, which was established in 2023. Registrations will be accepted till February 04th, 2024.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi introduced the idea of a sustained cultural connection between people from different regions during the Rashtriya Ekta Divas held in 2015 to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary. EBSB was launched on 31st October 2016, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by focusing on experiential learning and imbibing knowledge of India’s rich diversity.
Yuva Sangam is an ongoing cultural exchange that celebrates diversity, offering participants an immersive experience of diverse life facets, natural landforms, development landmarks, recent achievements, and youth connect in the host state.
In Phase IV of Yuva Sangam, twenty-two eminent institutions across India will host participants from their respective states/UTs, led by the nodal Higher Education Institutes (HEIs). The initiative organizes educational-cum-cultural tours for youth, including on-campus and off-campus students, from one state/UT to another. The tours provide multi-dimensional exposure under five broad areas: Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect), and Prodyogiki (Technology).
The participating Ministry/Department/agency of EBSB includes M/o Home Affairs, Culture, Tourism, Youth Affairs & Sports, Information & Broadcasting, Department for Development of North-East Region (DoNER), and Railways. Nodal Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) drive the initiative.
Yuva Sangam has seen strong participation in previous phases, with registrations reaching 16767, 21380, and 29151 in the three phases respectively. It has also infused volunteerism in the youth of India, contributing extensively to various nation-building activities.
