Although there has been much speculation about Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni’s retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL), there has been no official update from either the man or his franchise. And, once again, Dhoni has refused to say categorically that the current IPL 2023 season will be his last. When asked if this would be his final season in the cash-rich league at the toss ahead of the Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) home match against Dhoni-led CSK, the legendary skipper revealed that he hasn’t decided but a narrative being pushed by pundits like Danny Morris.
“We’ll start with bowling. We’ll bowl first because the wicket was under covers and looks a little nasty. You must inspect all conditions and the venue. Deepak (Chahar) is available for us, thus he replaces Akash (Singh). The rest of the team is exactly the same. (On whether he’s enjoying the farewell support) “You’ve decided it’s my last IPL, not me,” Dhoni told broadcaster Danny Morrison at the toss.
