Women Ministers in Modi Cabinet 3.0: Get to Know Them and Their Portfolios

In the Modi 3.0 Cabinet, the women ministers include Nirmala Sitharaman, Apna Dal MP Anupriya Patel, and BJP MPs Shobha Karandlaje, Nimuben Bambhaniya, Raksha Khadse, Savitri Thakur, and Annapurna Devi. Sitharaman and Devi became the Cabinet ministers, while the other women took oaths as ministers of state.

The Modi Cabinet 3.0 includes seven women ministers, who were sworn in on June 9, 2024. Here is a list of the women ministers and their portfolios:

    • Shobha Karandlaje is a Bengaluru North BJP MP and has previously held positions in the Karnataka government. She won her seat with a significant margin of 2.59 lakh votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
  2. Raksha Khadse: Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports
    • Raksha Khadse is a three-term MP from Maharashtra and the daughter-in-law of former BJP leader Eknath Khadse. She won her seat with a margin of 2.72 lakh votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
  3. Savitri Thakur: Ministry of Women and Child Development
    • Savitri Thakur is a 46-year-old tribal leader who defeated Radheshyam Muvel of the Congress by a margin of over 2.18 lakh votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
  4. Nimuben Bambhaniya: Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution
    • Nimuben Bambhaniya is a former mayor of Bhavnagar and easily defeated Umesh Makwana of the Aam Aadmi Party with a massive margin of 4.55 lakh votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
  5. Anupriya Patel: Ministry of Commerce and Industry
    • Anupriya Patel is a well-known figure in the Other Backward Class (OBC) Kurmi community and has held the position of Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry since 2021.
  6. Raksha Nikhil Khadse: Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports
    • Raksha Nikhil Khadse is the daughter-in-law of former BJP leader Eknath Khadse and won her seat with a margin of 2.72 lakh votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
  7. Savitri Thakur: Ministry of Women and Child Development
    • Savitri Thakur is a 46-year-old tribal leader who defeated Radheshyam Muvel of the Congress by a margin of over 2.18 lakh votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
