India, headed by Harmanpreet Kaur, suffered a painful defeat to Australia in a key ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 encounter on Sunday (13 October) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The defeat to the defending champions hampered India’s chances of reaching the semi-finals.
Batting first, Australia scored 151 off 8 wickets in their 20 overs.
India started their innings confidently, but faltered under pressure in the last over, finishing at 142/9 in 20 overs, falling 9 runs short.
