Yuvraj Singh’s T20I record of 36 runs in an over, set during the 2007 T20 World Cup by smashing six sixes off England pacer Stuart Broad, was broken on Tuesday by Samoa wicketkeeper-batsman Darius Visser.
Visser scored 39 runs against Vanuatu seamer Nalin Nipiko at Garden Oval No.2 in Apia, Samoa, during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional East Asia-Pacific Qualifier A match.

The over saw Visser smashing six sixes besides the three no-balls delivered by Nipiko.
Visser’s blitz also surpassed the more recent performances of Kieron Pollard (2021 – 36 runs), Nicholas Pooran (2024 – 36 runs), and Dipendra Singh Airee (2024 – 36 runs).
Darius Visser displayed his batting skills by hammering three consecutive sixes off the first three balls of Nipiko’s over. He maintained his onslaught, clearing the boundary once more with the fourth legal delivery, bringing Samoa’s total to a hundred.
Despite Nipiko’s efforts to stop Visser with a dot ball on the fifth delivery, the 28-year-old persisted. He capitalized on the momentum, hitting another six off the third no-ball of the over.
Visser finished the over with another maximum, securing his place in history as the first Samoan player to get a century in international cricket.
His game-changing knock of 132 runs off 62 deliveries sparked Samoa’s second tournament victory. This victory preserved their chances of qualifying for the future 2026 T20 World Cup alive.
