Mumbai: Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale’s family has refuted rumours pertaining to his death. The rumour of Gokhale’s got triggered in such way that even celebrities shared condolence posts on social media.

“He is still critical and on life support. He has not passed away yet. Keep praying for him,” said Vikram Gokhale’s daughter.

Gokhale is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Pune following health complications. The 82-year-old actor was admitted to the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital a few days ago.

Gokhale’s family friend Anand Dave said, “As of now he has been administered some specialised medicine. He will be taken to his residence in Pune tomorrow morning at around 10 am. Gokhale’s two daughters have requested not to spread rumours about his health.”

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn tweeted about the veteran actor’s demise. He wrote, “Vikram Gokhale Sir brought a lot of gravitas to the roles he essayed. He always stood tall. I had the good fortune of sharing screen time with him. His passing away is very sad. I pray his soul finds eternal peace. RIP Vikram Sir. Condolences to his family. Om Shanti.”

Vikram Gokhale, is known for his appearances in films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and more.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Vikram is known for his on-screen roles in films like Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Parwana, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Agneepath, and Khuda Gawah. The prolific star, who had established himself in Indian cinema, is also a recipient of the National Award for Best Actor in 2010 for his performance in the Marathi film, Anumati.

Gokhale is the son of Marathi theatre and film actor Chandrakant Gokhale, and following his stint in regional cinema, the actor made his directorial debut in 2010 with the film, Aaghaat. His last outing was Abhimanyu Dassani and Shilpa Shetty-starrer Nikamma, which was released in theatres in June this year.
