The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has a new CEO thanks to the Uttar Pradesh government, who selected Ravi Kumar N G, Divisional Commissioner, Gorakhpur.
Ritu Maheshwari, who was serving as both the chief executive officer of the Noida Authority and the GNIDA, will be replaced by Ravi Kumar. Maheshwari, an IAS officer from the UP cadre who graduated in 2003, will stay on as the CEO of the Noida Authority.
On September 28, 2022, Maheshwari was given additional responsibility as GNIDA CEO after Surender Singh, a former CEO of Greater Noida and commissioner of Meerut, was appointed as the secretary to the Delhi Lieutenant Governor. She used to come into the office about twice a week.
Farmers made one of their main requests known during sit-in protests at the Authority: they wanted a permanent CEO who would pay attention to their issues.
After formerly holding the position of district magistrate for Ghaziabad, Maheshwari has been Noida’s CEO since July 2019. She also works for the Noida Metro Rail Corporation as the managing director.
The Uttar Pradesh government chose an IAS officer from the 2004 batch, Ravi Kumar, to manage things pertaining to tourism, culture, and religion. He previously held the position of director general of UP Tourism before being promoted to Gorakhpur Division Commissioner in 2021. In the past, Kumar held the positions of district magistrate in Mathura and Agra as well as Uma Bharti’s private secretary.
