UPSC Declares Final Results for CAPF Assistant Commandants Exam 2023

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2023.

The exam for the same was conducted on August 6, 2023, followed by the interviews for the Personality Test held from May 13, 2024 to June 6, 2024.

The exam was conducted to fill vacancies across various armed police forces including Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

This recruitment drive filled a total of 359 vacancies across various armed police forces. Specifically, 86 in Border Security Force (BSF), 55 in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 91 in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), 91 in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and 36 for the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

“Based  on  the  result of written part of the Central  Armed  Police  Forces  (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2023 held by Union Public Service Commission on  August 6, 2023  and the interviews for  Personality  Test  held  from 13.05.2024 to 14.06.2024, the following is the list,  in  order  of merit, of candidates who have been recommended for appointment to  the posts of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB),” states the official notification.

A total number of 312 candidates have been recommended for appointment consisting of 112 candidates in the general category, 33 in EWS category, 95 in OBC category, 47 in SC category, and 25 in ST category. Among them, seven are ex-servicemen.

As per the notification, the final selection/appointment of recommended candidates will be subject to final outcome of the Writ Petition (Civil) No. 5877/2022 filed by Diwakar Pande & Ors. Vs. Ministry of Home Affairs & Ors. in the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi. Results of four candidates have been kept in sealed cover as per the direction of Hon’ble High Court of Delhi.

“Appointments to the various services shall be made by the Government according to the number of vacancies available and subject to the candidates fulfilling all the prescribed eligibility conditions/provisions contained in the Rules for the Examination and verifications, wherever due, being completed satisfactorily. Allotment to various services shall be made according to the merit obtained and preference of services given by candidates,” states the UPSC release.

Meanwhile, the candidature of 75 recommended candidates is provisional also the Commission is maintaining a consolidated reserve list of 92 candidates.

The UPSC said that the marks of candidates are likely to be available on the website within 15 days from the date of declaration of result.
