The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released a cybersecurity guide to educate teachers, students, and non-teaching staff on cybersecurity principles. The material, titled “Handbook on Basics of Cyber Hygiene for Higher Education Institutions,” may be found on the official UGC website.
This guide is a part of UGC’s continuous efforts to raise awareness of safe online activities and improve the cybersecurity framework in higher education institutions.
“All Higher Education Institutions (HEls) are asked to urge their teachers, students, and non-teaching staff to consult this manual due to the growing significance of maintaining strong cyber hygiene.
According to the official notification, “its proactive adoption will ensure adherence to best practices for protecting digital assets in HEl and support the development of a secure academic ecosystem.”
The cybersecurity guidebook, according to UGC, is an essential tool for enhancing the cyber resilience of educational institutions. For students, instructors, and non-teaching staff, it provides thorough standards and best practices to promote a culture of safety in the digital world.
