For real-time updates on higher education, the University Grants Commission (UGC) inaugurated the UGC India WhatsApp Channel on Monday. An “inclusive and informed higher education landscape” is what the UGC-India WhatsApp Channel aims to promote.
Students, staff, institutions, and universities will be able to get real-time information about higher education thanks to the inauguration of the new channel.
The UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar while launching the channel said, “The launch of the UGC India WhatsApp channel is a significant step towards fostering a more inclusive and informed higher education landscape. By embracing technology and utilizing a widely used platform, the UGC is modernizing its communication strategy and enabling stakeholders to navigate the information on higher education in real-time. This initiative sets a precedent for leveraging digital tools to enhance accessibility, transparency, and efficiency in education governance.”
College and university faculties can gain from the real-time information provided through the WhatsApp channel on changes to the curriculum, assessment procedures, and professional development possibilities. For updates on examinations, scholarships, admissions, and other pertinent information regarding higher education, students can also watch the channel.
The chairman went on to say that this initiative establishes a precedent for using digital tools to improve accessibility, transparency, and effectiveness in educational governance.
