In a significant diplomatic move, the United States has dispatched its leading human rights official to Delhi and Dhaka shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s successful state visit to the U.S. Uzra Zeya, the U.S. Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, as well as the U.S. Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues, will engage in discussions with senior government officials and prominent civil society activists during her visit to India and Bangladesh. Additionally, Zeya is set to meet with the esteemed Tibetan Buddhist leader, the Dalai Lama, underscoring the importance of her trip to the region.
Uzra Zeya, while announcing her travel plans, expressed her optimism about “advancing shared solutions to global challenges” through her meetings in Delhi and Dhaka.
