Two BJP MPs Injured During Ambedkar Protest in Parliament

On Thursday, dramatic scenes unfolded in Parliament as BJP and Opposition MPs marched in protest of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statements against Dr. BR Ambedkar. As the demonstrations grew in intensity, both groups swapped accusations of “assault”.

Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, two BJP MPs, were reportedly injured during the tense BJP-Congress impasse in Parliament. According to sources, the BJP intends to file a police report following the incident, in which party members denounced Rahul Gandhi for “hooliganism”.

On the other hand, veteran Congress leader and Rajya Sabha LoP Mallikarjun Kharge wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, demanding an inquiry into the alleged assault by BJP MPs during the chaotic protest march. The Congress alleged that BJP MPs deliberately pushed opposition leaders and blocking them from reaching the Parliament.
