Donald Trump has revealed the first world leader he will call if elected to the White House this November, and it’s none other than Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Speaking at a campaign event in Smithton, Pennsylvania on Monday, Trump said that he would call Xi Jinping and force him to honor a deal he made with Trump when the latter was still the president. “My first call, I’m going to call up President Xi. I’m going to say, ‘You have to honor the deal you made. We made a deal. You’d buy $50 billion worth of American farm product.’ And I guarantee you he will buy it. 100% he will buy it,” Trump said. The former president then went on to slam the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris-led administration for allegedly failing to enforce the deal. “Biden and Harris, they’re never going to enforce anything… That group is a disaster. It’s a disaster for our country in so many ways, but certainly the farmers are one of those ways,” Trump added.
Trump’s Deal With China
In his final year as the President of the United States, Donald Trump had stuck a deal with Xi Jinping which included the purchase of US-made products worth $200 billion. The deal also included $50 million worth of farm agricultural products produced by farmers in the US. The 78-year-old was in Smithton, Pennsylvania interacting with farmers in a large barn. Photos showed Trump seated in the barn and listening to the farmers, diverting from his usual campaign style of doing all the speaking. China was the key agenda in the roundtable event, as a tractor was in the background with a sign that read: ‘Protect our food from China.’
