Ormax Media, a renowned media consulting firm, recently released its mid-year review report of Streaming Originals in India, highlighting the most-watched Hindi web series in the first half of 2023. Topping the charts is the web series “Farzi,” featuring popular actors Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi. The report showcases the growing popularity of Hindi web content and the significant viewership garnered by these shows.

1. Farzi: 

At the forefront of the list is “Farzi,” directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The series revolves around an artist’s attempt at a con job, while an intense young cop relentlessly pursues him. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, Raashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Zakir Hussain, and Bhuvan Arora, “Farzi” captured the hearts of 37.1 million viewers, making it the most-watched Hindi web series of the first half of 2023.

2. The Night Manager:

Securing the second spot is “The Night Manager,” a gripping spy thriller featuring Aditya Roy Kapur and Sobhita Dhulipala. Streaming on Disney+Hotstar, the show garnered a viewership of 28.6 million. The series was released in two parts, with four episodes in January and the final three episodes in June.

3. Taaza Khabar: 

YouTuber and social media sensation Bhuvan Bam’s series “Taaza Khabar” claimed the third position with an impressive viewership of 23.5 million. The show’s popularity is a testament to the growing influence of digital content creators in the web series landscape.

4. Asur 2:

The fourth spot is secured by “Asur 2,” a highly acclaimed series starring Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti, available for streaming on JioCinema. The show has received accolades from both viewers and critics, accumulating a viewership of 19.3 million.

Other web series that made it to the list include “Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo” led by Dimple Kapadia, Sonakshi Sinha’s “Dahad,” “City of Dreams S3,” “Bigg Boss OTT 2,” “Happy Family Conditions Apply,” and “Pop Kaun?”
