The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) analyzed and established a list of top research institutes in the country by using several characteristics and a process that draws recommendations from a committee established by the MHRD.
The following criteria were utilized to rank the research institutes that stand out:
(i) Quantitative Research (QNR)
(ii) Qualitative Research (QLR)
(iii) Students and Faculty Contribution (SFC)
(iv) Outreach and Inclusivity (OI)
(v) Perception (PR)
According to the NIRF 2023 ranking, the following are the top ten research institutes in the country:
