Thalapathy Vijay Opens Up About Quitting Films for Politics

Thalapathy Vijay talked about his decision to leave the Tamil cinema business in order to focus on his political career. The actor revealed that he is leaving the film industry to focus on his political career, despite rumors that he was filming his final few films before giving up on politics entirely. During the first TVK Vijay Maanadu event on Sunday, the actor spoke to his admirers and revealed his future plans in a fiery speech.

“I have thrown away the peak of my career and i have thrown away the salary.. I’m here as your VIJAY with a trust on you all…” the Tamil superstar said, as he addressed a massive group of gathering in Tamil Nadu. In September, it was reported that Vijay is the highest paid actor in India. According to multiple reports, including ETimes, the actor has charged Rs 275 Cr for his upcoming film Thalapathy 69.

Vijay also revisited all the criticism he dealt with when he joined the Tamil film industry. “At the beginning of my cinema career, I was told that my face is not good, I am not a great personality, my style is not good, even my hair and my walk were not good. They shamed me like this,” he said. However, he added that he didn’t let these criticism deter his spirits. Vijay said he worked hard towards making a mark for himself and prove everyone wrong.
