Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram, was taken to court in Paris on Wednesday to be formally prosecuted after his original detention for interrogation ended, according to an AFP source familiar with the situation.
The 39-year-old Russian was detained late Saturday at the French capital’s Le Bourget airport on suspicion of failing to combat unlawful information on Telegram, a social network with 900 million users, claims the business has disputed.
