Shocking Poll Results After Trump-Harris Debate

Last week’s presidential debate between vice president Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump ended with some sided with one party while others went to the other side. But now a new poll survey came which revealed that over half of the Americans felt Harris won the debate.

According to a recent ABC/Ipsos poll, a majority of Americans believe Vice President Harris emerged victorious in last week’s presidential debate against former President Trump.

The survey, conducted in the days following the debate, revealed that 58 percent of respondents chose Harris as the winner, while only 36 percent selected Trump.

Interestingly, this outcome is a reversal from the June debate between Trump and President Biden, where 66 percent of Americans considered the former president the winner, and only 28 percent chose Biden, The Hill reported.

The poll also indicated that the debate had a positive impact on Harris’s favorability ratings among voters, with 37 percent stating that the debate improved their opinion of her, while 23 percent reported a less favorable view. For 38 percent of respondents, the debate had no impact on their perception of Harris.

In contrast, the debate appeared to have a more negative effect on Trump’s favorability. Thirty percent of Americans said the debate made them view him less favorably, while only 17 percent reported an improved opinion. Half of the respondents stated that the debate did not influence their perception of the former president.

During the debate, Trump appeared visibly irritated and refused to make eye contact with his Democratic opponent on several occasions. He also displayed anger at times, suggesting that Harris had successfully provoked him. Various political commentators and the Wall Street Journal editorial board have declared Harris the “winner” of the debate, while Trump maintains that it was his “best debate ever.”

Trump also criticized ABC News moderators for being ‘biased’ towards Harris. Several Republicans said that the fact check was done for only one person while Harris remains unchallenged.

The ABC News/Ipsos poll, conducted by Langer Research Associates from September 11-13, surveyed a random national sample of 3,276 adults and has a margin of sampling error of 2 percentage points.
