The US-based Global Finance magazine has named Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das the best central banker.
He has been named the world’s leading central banker for the second year in a row.
“For the second year in a row, Governor @DasShaktikanta was recognized with an A+ grade on the Central Bank Report Cards 2024. In a post on X, RBI stated, “Presented by Global Finance at an event held today in Washington DC, USA.”
Das is ranked first among the three central bank governors who received an A+ rating.
According to a statement, grades are assigned on a scale of A to F for performance in managing interest rates, controlling inflation, achieving economic growth objectives, and maintaining currency stability.
An ‘A’ represents excellent performance, while an ‘F’ for outright failure.
Denmark’s Christian Kettel Thomsen, and Switzerland’s Thomas Jordan have also been ranked under the ‘A+’ category of central bankers.
