The 58th birthday celebration of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan took an unpleasant twist as Mumbai Police reported the theft of mobile phones from 17 of his fans gathered outside his iconic residence, Mannat in Bandra.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of Thursday, when an enormous crowd of SRK admirers had assembled outside Mannat, hoping to catch a glimpse of their beloved actor on his special day. In response to this unfortunate turn of events, the Bandra police took swift action, registering two separate cases against unidentified culprits.
The first complaint was lodged by a 23-year-old photographer from a national newspaper who had come to Bandra Bandstand with friends to be part of the crowd outside Mannat. Around 12:30 am, the photographer noticed his mobile phone missing from his pocket. Realizing that he was not alone, he promptly reported the theft to the Bandra police. Subsequently, more fans approached the police station with similar grievances, resulting in the authorities consolidating the complaints and filing an FIR against the unknown perpetrators.
A second FIR was initiated based on the complaint of a 24-year-old resident of Parel in Central Mumbai. In total, the police have now been made aware of the thefts of mobile phones belonging to 17 fans who had gathered to celebrate Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday.

Despite these precautionary measures, opportunistic thieves managed to exploit the densely packed crowd and make off with fans’ phones, leaving an unfortunate blemish on the festive occasion.
