Rema, the “Calm Down” singer, is getting over ₹6 crore to perform one song at the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai. Rema, the Nigerian rapper, is already in India and shared a video of himself on Instagram boarding a private plane, dressed in black with his face covered. He used an Indian flag emoji in his post.
Luis Fonsi, famous for the song “Despacito,” is also expected to perform at the wedding.
Last week, the couple had a high-profile sangeet ceremony where singers Badshah and Karan Aujla performed. Badshah charged ₹4 crore for his performance. There were also reports that Justin Bieber was paid $10 million to perform at the event.
The wedding will have guests from around the world, including Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, futurist Peter Diamandis, artist Jeff Koons, self-help coach Jay Shetty, former UK Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, former US Secretary of State John Kerry, former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, and former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, along with other politicians, industrialists, and celebrities.
Anant and Radhika will get married on July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai. They had their roka ceremony in 2022 and their engagement in 2023. Earlier this year, they had a pre-wedding ceremony in Jamnagar attended by celebrities like Ram Charan, Upasana, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. Rihanna performed at the event. They also had a pre-wedding bash on a luxury cruise with a performance by Katy Perry.
The wedding ceremony on July 12 is called Shubh Vivah, followed by Shubh Aashirwad on July 13 and Mangal Utsav on July 14.
