RBI Summer Internship 2024 Applications Now Open—Here’s How to Apply

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has officially launched applications for its 2024 Summer Internship Programme. Eligible candidates can apply online at the RBI’s official website.

The program is offered to students doing postgraduate studies or integrated five-year degrees in Management, Statistics, Law, Commerce, Economics, Econometrics, Banking, and Finance.

Candidates who have completed a three-year full-time professional bachelor’s degree in law from a reputable Indian institution are also eligible.

However, only students in the penultimate year of their respective courses are allowed to apply.

Interested candidates must submit their applications via the online portal available on the RBI website, with the form open from October 15 until December 15. The internship is slated to begin in April of the following year.

Selected trainees would be given a monthly stipend of Rs 20,000. However, accommodation is not provided for outstation candidates, who must make their own arrangements. Before beginning their internship, all interns must sign a confidentiality statement.

Furthermore, outstation candidates are eligible for reimbursement of travel expenses (equal to AC II Tier train fare) between their university and the specified internship site.

What is the Selection Process

The RBI will shortlist up to 125 students for the programme. Shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews, scheduled for January or February at specific RBI offices. Final selections will be announced between February and March.

Foreign students enrolled in fields such as Economics, Finance, Banking, Management, and Law at institutions abroad are also eligible to apply. If selected, they will work on projects at the RBI’s Central Office in Mumbai.
