Rajinikanth’s “Jailer” Achieves Impressive ₹225 Crore Collection in First Week

“Jailer,” featuring the iconic Rajinikanth in the lead role, has continued its triumphant run at the box office, amassing an impressive collection of ₹225.65 crore within its first week of release. The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, also stars acclaimed actors like Jackie Shroff, Mohanlal, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Ramya Krishnan. With this remarkable success, the movie sets its sights on crossing the coveted ₹300 crore mark.

The box office journey of “Jailer” has been nothing short of remarkable. The film debuted with a whopping ₹48 crore on its opening day. While it experienced a slight dip on the following days, it managed to maintain its momentum, reaching ₹42 crore on Sunday. Afterward, the film encountered fluctuations in its daily collections, with Monday seeing a figure of ₹23.55 crore and Independence Day witnessing a surge to ₹36.5 crore. As of Wednesday, the film’s earnings slowed down to ₹15 crore, marking its lowest collection so far. Despite this, “Jailer” has outperformed other major releases this year, including “Ponniyin Selvan II.”

In “Jailer,” Rajinikanth portrays the titular character of jailer Muthuvel Pandian, offering audiences an action-packed entertainer. The ensemble cast includes Priyanka Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, and Vinayakan. Mohanlal makes an extended cameo appearance, while Tamannaah Bhatia’s dance number, “Kaavaalaa,” has already become a hit.

The song “Kaavaalaa” has garnered immense popularity, with even Hiroshi Suzuki, the Ambassador of Japan to India, joining in on the craze. In a video alongside Japanese YouTuber Mayo San, he can be seen dancing to the song, highlighting its cross-cultural appeal. Tamannaah expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming response to the song, noting that the film has been dubbed in multiple languages to reach a broader audience.

“Jailer” continues to captivate audiences, solidifying its position as a blockbuster hit. As the film aims to breach the ₹300 crore milestone, it remains a testament to the enduring charm of Rajinikanth and the power of compelling storytelling.
