Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, leaders of the Congress, will launch the party’s campaign for the Telangana Assembly elections on November 30 with a bus yatra on Wednesday.
At 3:30 pm, a special flight carrying both Congress leaders will land at Hyderabad’s Begumpet airport. They will then take a helicopter to the Ramappa shrine. They will start the bus yatra, speak at a rally, and engage with ladies after offering prayers at the shrine, according to party sources.
After the rally, Priyanka will return to Delhi, but Rahul will stay in the state and continue to attend engagements, they claimed.
Rahul Gandhi would remain in Bhupalpally tonight, according to Danasari Anasuya, a popularly known Seethakka and a Congress MLA from Mulugu, who spoke to news agency PTI.
“They will reach Ramappa temple at 4.30 pm. Around 5 pm, they will address a public meeting. Afterwards, there will be a bus yatra up to Bhupalpally (about 30 kilometres),” she said.
The three-day yatra starting on October 18 would tour eight constituencies, according to sources in the Congress.
On October 19, Rahul Gandhi will address public gatherings in Peddapalli and Karimnagar (night halt), as well as a meeting with employees of the state-owned mining company Singareni Collieries.
On October 20, he will participate in a gathering of farmers in Jagtial and attend events in Armoor and Nizamabad, among other locations.
Rahul Gandhi is also scheduled to visit the Nizam Sugar Factory in Bodhan and meet with farmers of sugarcane and turmeric in Armoor during his visit to Telangana.
