Review of Raayan
The Hindustan Times reviewed the film positively, stating, “All the main actors in the film, including SJ Suryah, who plays a key role, have performed well, lending more gravitas to this film. Dhanush has excelled not just as an actor but as a director too. As an actor, his look (short hair, rough beard) and the way he channels his anger with his eyes is captivating, especially in the climax fight. With the movie being rated A and the theme revolving around gang wars, there is plenty of violence, especially in the second half. There are some superbly choreographed action scenes that have been well shot, particularly with the use of handheld cameras that move with the actors.”
