According to reports, the Enforcement Directorate is raiding the personal secretary of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and a Rajya Sabha MP who are associated with the Aam Aadmi Party in connection with a money laundering investigation.
ED officials are now searching around 12 locations in Delhi, Chandigarh, and Varanasi.
Mr Kejriwal’s personal secretary, Bibhav Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP ND Gupta, and former Delhi Jal Board member Shalabh Kumar are among those being raided.
“We are not afraid. There’s no evidence (of any iregularity). ED is trying to turn the accused into government witness,” said Delhi minister Atishi at the press conference this morning, targeting theÂ
The raids – being held in connection to an alleged scam in the Jal Board – come hours before a press conference by AAP in which the party had claimed it will make big exposes.
The ED is looking into two alleged financial irregularities in the complaint filed by the CBI.
Two former Jal Board head engineers have been detained in connection with the matter.
