On Wednesday, Prasar Bharati, India’s state broadcaster, released the OTT app “Waves,” which gives users access to the extensive archives of Doordarshan and Aakashvani.
The app presently provides about 40 live channels, including news stations like India Today, News Nation, Republic, ABP News, News24, and NDTV India, as well as well-known broadcasters like B4U, ABZY, SAB Group, and 9X Media.
Prasar Bharati Chairman Navneet Kumar Sehgal stated, “We are trying to give clean and family entertainment,” when speaking at the International Film Festival of India in Panaji, Goa.
According to Mr. Sehgal, the OTT app offers a plethora of other services, including games, movies, news, and quick purchasing through its connection to the ONDC network.
“All our (Prasar Bharati) archives are also available. You can relive your childhood by watching your favourite shows,” he said.
