PM Modi’s Vision for India and Global Welfare: Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Model

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his vision for India’s progress and its potential to serve as a model for global welfare. Just a week before hosting world leaders at the G20 summit, PM Modi emphasized the significance of transitioning from a “GDP-centric approach” to a “human-centric one,” highlighting the importance of inclusivity.

PM Modi emphasized the importance of every voice, regardless of GDP size, and the need for a global shift towards a more human-centric approach. The G20, representing 85% of global GDP, 75% of international trade, and 65% of the world’s population, is a platform where this transition is taking shape.

India’s G20 Presidency has played a catalytic role in promoting this shift, fostering confidence in countries of the Third World. PM Modi suggested that India’s successful “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas” model could be a guiding principle for global welfare.

PM Modi also shared his optimism about India’s future, envisioning a developed India by 2047 with comprehensive poverty reduction, improved health and education, and the elimination of corruption, casteism, and communalism.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of financial discipline, cautioning against populist measures that may have short-term political gains but lead to long-term social and economic consequences, particularly for the most vulnerable.

On the global stage, PM Modi advocated for United Nations reforms to reflect the changing world and underscored India’s support for the African Union’s full membership in the G20, recognizing the need for inclusive representation in shaping the planet’s future.

Addressing the global debt crisis, PM Modi noted that India’s G20 presidency has focused on addressing debt vulnerabilities in low-income economies and highlighted the importance of financial discipline. He also mentioned the Global Sovereign Debt Roundtable, a joint initiative of the IMF, World Bank, and G20 Presidency, aimed at strengthening communication and effective debt treatment.

In the context of climate action, PM Modi emphasized the need for a constructive approach rather than a restrictive one. He highlighted India’s achievements in meeting climate goals ahead of schedule, including its actions against single-use plastic, sanitation improvements, and its leadership role in global initiatives like the International Solar Alliance.

PM Modi also highlighted India’s contributions to the fight against cyber threats and terrorism, emphasizing the importance of global cooperation in combating cybercrimes.
