Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently interacted with Indian athletes heading to the Paris Olympics 2024, expressing confidence in their abilities to shine on the global stage. The interaction was shared via PM Modi’s official social media accounts, where he encouraged the nation to support and cheer for the athletes.

During the virtual meeting, PM Modi discussed preparations with several athletes, including star players like Neeraj Chopra, PV Sindhu, and Nikhat Zareen. He specifically asked Manu Bhaker about her training experiences and shared a light-hearted moment with Neeraj Chopra, joking about his favorite food, churma.

Reflecting on the athletes’ dedication, PM Modi highlighted their participation in approximately 900 international events, underscoring India’s growing presence in global sports. He praised their achievements and expressed optimism for India’s performance, drawing parallels with the success seen in the Tokyo Olympics.

PM Modi also highlighted India’s advancements in shooting and noted the qualification of both men’s and women’s teams in table tennis. He acknowledged the inclusion of Indian shooters in the shotgun team and mentioned new entries in wrestling and equestrian events for the upcoming Olympics.

Referencing India’s notable performance in the World Para Athlete Championship, PM Modi anticipated heightened excitement and achievements in the Paris Olympics. He emphasized India’s successes in chess and badminton, encouraging the nation to anticipate stellar performances from the Indian contingent.

PM Modi concluded by wishing the Indian team success and inspiring 140 crore Indians to rally behind their athletes during the Paris Olympics, set to begin in late July.
