On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi essentially lay the groundwork for a number of development projects in Maharashtra worth over Rs 7,600 crore. The PM also unveiled a number of initiatives to improve postgraduate and undergraduate education as well as provide individuals with specialized tertiary healthcare.
Ten new government medical colleges were established in Maharashtra by the Indian Institute of Skills Mumbai and Vidya Samiksha Kendra. The Prime Minister of Maharashtra announced the opening of ten new government medical colleges. They are situated in Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, Amravati, Gadchiroli, Buldhana, Washim, Bhandara, Hingoli, and Ambernath (Thane).
The Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) Mumbai has been set up with an aim to create an industry-ready workforce with cutting-edge technology and hands-on training. Established under a Public-Private Partnership model, it is a collaboration between the Tata Education and Development Trust and the Government of India. The institute plans to provide training in highly specialised areas such as mechatronics, artificial intelligence, data analytics, industrial automation and robotics among others.
The mission of the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) Mumbai is to develop a workforce equipped with state-of-the-art technology and practical training, ready for the workforce of the future. It was founded under a public-private partnership approach and is an initiative of the Indian government and the Tata Education and Development Trust. The institute intends to offer training in a number of highly specialized fields, including robotics, industrial automation, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and mechatronics.
Via live chatbots like Smart Upasthiti and Swadhyay, among others, the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) of Maharashtra will give students, instructors, and administrators access to vital academic and administrative data.
PM Modi also aid the foundation stones for the upgradation of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur and the New Integrated Terminal Building at the Shirdi airport.
