Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that his administration had given young people about 10 lakh permanent government employment in the past year or one and a half, setting a new record in the process.
Speaking to recruits at a Rozgar Mela via a virtual event, where more than 71,000 individuals received appointment letters, he said that no “mission mode” had ever been offered in the history of any prior government positions.
He said that honesty and openness have guided the hiring process and that the youth are at the heart of his government’s policies and initiatives.
Modi stated that his administration is working to make women self-sufficient in all areas, pointing out that many of the recruits are female.
The government’s decision to grant 26-week maternity leave to women has helped them a lot in their career, he said, noting that women are the majority owners of the house constructed under the ‘PM Awas Yojana’.
