The Paris 2024 Olympics started with a dazzling ceremony on Friday. Nearly 7,000 athletes took part in a grand parade down the River Seine, passing by the famous monuments of Paris.
Even though it rained heavily, the excitement of the thousands of spectators remained high.
Leading the Indian team were PV Sindhu and Sharath Kamal. For the first time ever, the Olympic opening ceremony was held outside the main stadium. About 300,000 people watched from special stands along the river, while another 200,000 enjoyed the view from nearby balconies and apartments. The historic and ambitious event marked the beginning of the Paris Games.
