Hezbollah, a terror organization headquartered in Lebanon, launched a new attack on Israel on Monday, firing over 90 missiles toward the country’s northern city of Haifa, hurting citizens and destroying houses and vehicles, according to The Times of Israel.
According to the report, at least four individuals, including a kid, were hurt during the attacks.
According to initial reports, the assault of Hezbollah missiles was primarily intercepted by Israel’s “Iron Dome” defense system, but some still managed to target populous areas in Haifa Bay.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that rockets were fired at the Galilee area, some of which were intercepted by air defences, while several rockets struck the Karmiel area and nearby towns.
Notably, the attack, said to be one of the largest rocket strikes on Israel, came a day after Benjamin Netanyahu, for the first time, admitted that Tel Aviv was behind the pager and walkie-talkie attacks on the members of the Iran-backed terror group in Lebanon in September.
Thousands of pagers containing explosives exploded on their Hezbollah owners across Lebanon, leaving at least 39 people dead and more than 3,000 injured.
“The pager operation and the elimination of (Hezbollah leader Hassan) Nasrallah were carried out despite the opposition of senior officials in the defence establishment and those responsible for them in the political echelon,” The Times of Israel quoted Netanyahu as saying.
