Recently, the majority of the opposition leaders have begun to arrive in Bengaluru for the second major meeting to plan a campaign for the Lok Sabha election of 2024. Bengaluru streets were covered in posters with the slogan “United We Stand” and images of opposition leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi of the Congress, Mamata Banerjee of the TMC, Sharad Pawar of the NCP, Arvind Kejriwal of the AAP, M. K. Stalin of the DMK, and leaders of the Left and some regional organizations.
Sonia Gandhi, the leader of the Congress parliamentary party, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Rahul Gandhi, the former leader of the party, are in Bengaluru for a two-day brainstorming session. Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister, will all take part.
Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, will also take part following a confrontation over Congress’s backing of the ordinance issue. Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), will be there after meeting with MLAs from the opposition party for the second day in a row in Mumbai. Despite Pawar’s absence from the dinner hosted by Siddaramaiah, the chief minister of Karnataka, on Monday, Congress has assured that he will attend the event on Tuesday.

Opposition leaders from 26 parties are expected to attend a meeting to discuss a common minimum programme and a joint agitational plan to challenge the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. They plan to establish a subcommittee for drafting the program and establish communication points for the alliance. The agenda includes discussions on state-to-state seat sharing, EVM, and potential reforms to the Election Commission. The alliance’s name will be suggested during the finalization of the talks before a dinner meeting hosted by Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday evening.
