OMG 2 Trailer: Akshay Kumar as ‘Messenger’ of Lord Shiva; Pankaj Tripathi Fights in Courtroom, Watch Now!

In the recently released trailer of OMG 2, starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi, the story unfolds around Tripathi’s character, who decides to take legal action against his son’s school. The reason behind his decision is a video of his son being circulated on the internet, leading to his expulsion from the school. As his son struggles to cope with the stigma, Tripathi’s character turns to prayer, seeking divine intervention to resolve his problems. In response to his prayers, Akshay’s character emerges from the sacred Ganges, not as Lord Shiva, but as a messenger of God, a distinction emphasized in this film compared to its predecessor, OMG.

Similar to the previous installment, where Paresh Rawal’s character fought his case in court, Pankaj Tripathi’s character now battles for justice for himself and his son. The film is slated for release on August 11, but the makers have adopted a low-key approach to promotions.

OMG 2 faced controversies before its release, primarily concerning its censor certification. Due to the film’s sensitive religious theme, the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) issued an Adult (A) certificate, along with specific modifications that needed to be implemented before the theatrical release. The changes include the removal of frontal nudity visuals, alterations to scenes depicting ‘sculptures of unnatural sex,’ and the omission of references to real places like Ujjain. Additionally, the CBFC demanded the removal of a condom ad poster.

One particular scene shot at the Mahakaleshwar temple drew objections from Mahesh Sharma, a temple priest, who requested its removal due to potential offense to religious sentiments. As a result, Akshay Kumar’s portrayal of Lord Shiva was transformed into a ‘messenger of god’ in response to the CBFC’s suggested changes.

Oh My God 2, features an ensemble cast including Yami Gautam, Govind Namdev, and Arun Govil. The movie promises an intriguing courtroom drama while exploring themes relevant to the contemporary social and political climate.

With its release date just around the corner, fans eagerly await the thought-provoking narrative and stellar performances from Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi in this highly anticipated film.
