NTA JEE Main 2024 Analysis: Students Find Mathematics ‘Lengthy and Tricky’

The National Testing Agency (NTA) maintained the same difficulty level for the January 29, 2024 (Evening Shift) paper as it did on January 29, 2024 (Morning Shift). Physics was the easiest section of this paper to complete, followed by Chemistry. The most difficult and lengthy questions were those involving mathematics.

Check out the complete analysis provided by Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering at Aakash BYJU’S.

CHEMISTRY

Chemistry questions were largely clear and not too complex. The majority of the questions were theoretical. Questions from major topics such as Chemical Bonding, Coordination Compounds, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Alcohol, Phenol, and Ethers were asked. Almost every chapter was treated similarly throughout the paper. NCERT was the key to answering the chemistry questions on the paper.

MATHEMATICS

Students stated that the maths paper was lengthy and challenging. The paper was dominated by questions in calculus, vectors, and three dimensions. In addition, the paper included questions regarding matrices and determinants, probability, P & C, and sequence and series.

The quality of the questions is nearly identical to the morning shift paper. In compared to the Class 11 and 12 parts, the majority of the questions were from the Class 12 curriculum only.

PHYSICS

A good number of students shared that the Physics part was the easiest on the paper. Questions from Thermodynamics, Fluids, Current Electricity, Modern Physics and Work, Power and Energy were duly represented in the paper.

Solving a good number of mock tests and archive tests would prove to be an effective strategy. In comparison to the morning shift paper, Physics questions were relatively easy.

Overall, arithmetic is far too difficult and time-consuming for typical kids. The overall difficulty level of the article might be described as moderate. According to the majority of students, the difficulty level sequence is Mathematics > Chemistry > Physics.
