Nita Ambani Re-elected to IOC for Paris Olympics 2024

Nita Ambani, founder of the Reliance Foundation, has been re-elected to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) with unanimous support. This highlights India’s increasing influence in global sports. She is dedicated to advancing the Olympic Movement both in India and worldwide.

The International Olympic Committee announced Nita Ambani’s re-election during its 142nd session. She was re-elected with 100% of the votes. Nita Ambani expressed her gratitude, calling the re-election a significant moment for India. She thanked IOC President Thomas Bach and all IOC members for their trust and support.

Nita Ambani joined the IOC for the first time in 2016 at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. As the first Indian woman on the committee, she has worked to boost India’s presence in the Olympic community.

In October 2023, she hosted the first IOC session in Mumbai in over 40 years. This event showcased India’s new ambitions on the global stage. The Reliance Foundation supports sports development in India, impacting over 22.9 million children and youth.

Thomas Bach, the IOC President, congratulated Nita Ambani and the other re-elected members, thanking them for their contributions. The Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
