Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received a new killing threat, apparently from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which is demanding Rs 5 crore to settle an ongoing “enmity.”
The threat was made in a WhatsApp message sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police’s helpline on Thursday, stating that failing to meet the demand could result in “worse than former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique,” who was recently slain, allegedly by the Bishnoi gang.
The menacing note reportedly stated, “Do not take this lightly. Salman Khan must pay ₹5 crore to terminate his feud with Lawrence Bishnoi and remain alive. If the money is not delivered, his situation will be worse than Baba Siddiqui’s.”
In response, the Mumbai Police swiftly heightened security around Khan’s Bandra residence, while efforts are underway to trace the origins of the message and verify its authenticity. A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Worli police station, with authorities treating the matter seriously given the actor’s history of similar threats.
The recent threat comes in the wake of escalating tensions linked to the Bishnoi gang. In April, there was an incident where shots were fired outside Salman Khan’s Bandra home, intensifying concerns about his safety. The situation took another alarming turn on Thursday when Navi Mumbai Police uncovered a plot to assassinate the actor, allegedly orchestrated by the Bishnoi gang in June.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of Sukhbir Singh, aka Sukha, a key gang member. Singh was apprehended in Panipat, Haryana, and is suspected of recruiting more gang members for the intended attack on Salman Khan. Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the scope of the conspiracy and avoid further threats to the actor’s life.
