According to police on Saturday, a man has been detained for reportedly making a “death threat” against the chief minister of Haryana in a Julana WhatsApp group.
Ajmer, a resident of Jind district’s Deverar hamlet, was named as the accused.
On October 8, the day of the state’s vote counting, Ajmer allegedly threatened to kill someone in a WhatsApp group, according to Jind Superintendent of Police Sumit Kumar.
“As soon as the matter came to the notice of the police, a FIR was registered and Ajmer was arrested,” stated the officer.
Wrestler and Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat defeated BJP nominee Yogesh Kumar, her closest competitor, by a margin of 6,015 votes to win the Julana assembly seat.
