Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man, is constructing a world-class city near Delhi-NCR. The project, called MET City, is quickly emerging as Haryana’s new economic powerhouse. The city is the fastest developing integrated smart city in north India, with 76 new enterprises investing Rs 1,200 crore in FY 2022-23. Aside from economic investment, residential regions are seeing an increase in purchase. With 1200 new house buyers, the total number of residential plots sold has surpassed 2000.
The metropolis is being built from the ground up in Jhajjar and will stand alongside neighbouring Gurugram as one of Haryana’s megaeconomic center’s. Nihon Kohden, Panasonic, Denso, and T-Suzuki, four Japanese multinational corporations, have established important plants in the city, which is also recognized as a Japan Industrial Township. According to MET City CEO SV Goyal, the city is being planned with a “walk-to-work masterplan” and offers plug-and-play infrastructure to enterprises that set up business there.
Strong connectivity and proximity to Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, and other NCR cities are attractive selling aspects for house buyers. It is placed strategically along the Kundli Manesar Palwal (KMP) Motorway. Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi is conveniently accessible. The corporation has already invested Rs 8,000 crore and plans to invest an additional Rs 1,000 crore in the following phase.
Mukesh Ambani’s proposed city will also have rail connections to the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor’s Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC). The city has educational opportunities for families, such as the SGT University and The Sehwag School, which is run by former cricketer Virender Sehwag. A adjacent AIIMS institute provides healthcare amenities to the Reliance MET city.
