The Ministry of Culture is executing the scheme component of ‘Scholarships to Young Artists in Different Cultural disciplines (SYA)’ to offer Scholarships to Young Artists in Different Cultural Fields (SYA) for receiving advanced training in their respective disciplines.
A Scholarship of Rs. 5,000/- per month is awarded to chosen Scholars under this program component for a period of two years in four equal six-month instalments.
The selected scholars must be between the ages of 18 and 25 and have completed a minimum of 5 years of instruction with any Guru or Institution.
The Scholars are chosen based on their performance in a personal interview / contact with the Ministry’s Expert Scholarship Committee.
Details about young artists who benefitted from the scheme component ‘Scholarships to Young Artists in Different Cultural Fields (SYA)’ and the expense expended on providing scholarships to these artists during the previous five years are as follows:
The disbursement depends on the submission of the six monthly reports by the scholar/artist which is a continuous process.
