In Pakistan, some young men and women from minority groups, particularly the Hindu population, are breaking down boundaries and achieving remarkable success. Rajendra Meghwar is one such case. He created history as the first Hindu officer to join the Pakistan Police Service.
On Friday, Meghwar took over as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Faisalabad’s Gulberg neighborhood.
Rajendra Meghwar, a Hindu officer from Badin, Sindh, has been appointed to the police force after passing the Civil Services Examination. Meghwar’s appointment is seen as a sign of Pakistan’s growing inclusivity and societal progress.
This marks the first time a Hindu officer has been appointed to a police post in Faisalabad since the establishment of Punjab Police. Police officials believe Meghwar’s presence will enhance law and order, address minority community concerns, and increase public confidence in the force.
Senior officers also expressed pride in his appointment and emphasized the importance of strengthening relations with minority communities.
