A forensic assessment into the firearms used in the November Sambhal incident found that criminals attacked others using Pakistan-made rounds.
An investigation into five empty shells and two misfired cartridges found from Sambhal’s Kot Garvi indicated that they were manufactured by the Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF), according to assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Shreesh Chandra.
On November 24, the city of Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh erupted in rioting following a court-ordered assessment of a mosque. The altercation claimed the lives of four civilians and wounded numerous police officers. The police had previously stated that at least 41 rounds of ammunition were discharged during the fighting.
