According to a Fortune India article, Shah Rukh Khan became the greatest taxpayer among Indian celebrities in 2024. The biggest actor in Tamil cinema, Vijay, paid taxes totaling Rs 80 crore, after Shah Rukh paid Rs 92 crore. Salman Khan, who paid Rs 75 crore, was also included. The entertainment industry’s top stars were also on the list: Amitabh Bachchan (Rs 71 crore), Ajay Devgn (Rs 42 crore), Ranbir Kapoor (Rs 36 crore), Hrithik Roshan (Rs 28 crore), Kapil Sharma (Rs 26 crore), Kareena Kapoor (Rs 20 crore), and Shahid Kapoor (Rs 14 crore).
“Shah Rukh Khan tops the list of celebrity taxpayers in FY24 while Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay moves ahead of the likes of Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Virat Kohli to emerge second (Advance Tax payment, FY24),” Fortune India said.
Kiara Advani paid advance taxes of Rs 12 crore, while actors Mohan Lal and Allu Arjun paid advance taxes of Rs 14 crore apiece. Aamir Khan paid Rs 10 crore in advance tax in FY24, while Katrina Kaif and Pankaj Tripathi both paid Rs 11 crore.
According to the Fortune India list, M S Dhoni paid Rs 38 crore in the cricket world, while renowned players Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly paid Rs 28 crore and Rs 23 crore, respectively. In the fiscal year 2023–24, Virat Kohli paid an advance tax of Rs 66 crore, making him the highest-paid cricket player in the nation.
Hurun produced a list of the wealthiest Indians, and Shah Rukh Khan was one of them. As per the Hurun India Rich List, the estimated net worth of Shah Rukh Khan is Rs 7,300 crore. Among the main contributors to his enormous riches are his IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, which is jointly owned by Juhi Chawla and his wife Gauri’s production company Red Chillies Entertainment. Additionally, Shah Rukh Khan frequently appears on Forbes’ list of the highest-paid actors. The actor also returned with a bang last year, releasing three films.
