Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann joined forces as they met with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in Chennai to seek the support of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) against the Centre’s recent ordinance regarding the Delhi services matter. The trio engaged in discussions and strategizing to counter the government’s actions.

During the meeting, CM Stalin expressed his friendship with Arvind Kejriwal and expressed concern over the pressure exerted by the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government on the Delhi Union Territory and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government through the Lieutenant Governor. Stalin affirmed the DMK’s commitment to stand strong against the ordinance, vowing to vehemently oppose it.

The convergence of these influential Chief Ministers from different states underscores their shared objective of protecting the autonomy and interests of their respective governments. Arvind Kejriwal, known for his proactive approach, joined forces with Bhagwant Mann to rally support from DMK and other regional parties against what they perceive as undue interference by the Centre.

By aligning themselves with the DMK, Kejriwal and Mann hope to build a broad-based coalition of like-minded leaders who are willing to challenge the government’s actions and advocate for the rights of their states. This strategic collaboration aims to demonstrate solidarity and send a strong message to the Centre that regional voices will not be silenced or disregarded.

The meeting between these leaders signifies the growing importance of regional alliances in shaping the political landscape of the country. As they exchange ideas and experiences, they also seek to strengthen the federal structure of India by safeguarding the powers of state governments and promoting cooperative federalism.
