On Saturday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician Kapil Mishra was nominated as Delhi BJP Deputy President by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva.

Mishra’s name was on the list of the party’s new office bearers issued earlier this week, but it could not be declared for whatever reason, according to Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, who appointed him.

Mishra, known for his “fiery” talks on Hindutva philosophy, has had no organisational responsibilities in the Delhi BJP since joining.

Kapil Mishra, a former minister in Arvind Kejriwal’s cabinet, joined the BJP in 2019, along with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) women’s wing chief Richa Pandey.

On July 29, the BJP unveiled a much-anticipated organisational change, rewarding achievers while dismissing poor performers, trimming some wings and rebalancing power dynamics.

JP Nadda, the chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has reshuffled the party’s central office-bearers.

The BJP has fired CT Ravi, a Karnataka leader, and Dilip Saikia, an Assam Lok Sabha MP, as general secretaries, with indications hinting that they may run in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Tariq Mansoor, a former vice-chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and currently a BJP MLC in Uttar Pradesh, has been appointed vice-president, a move seen as part of the party’s outreach to Pasmanda Muslims.

In the current list, the majority of the office-holders have been retained as vice presidents, general secretaries, and secretaries.

Anil Antony, the son of legendary Congress leader AK Antony, has been appointed as the party’s national secretary.
