JNV Class VI Admissions 2025 Deadline Extended

The deadline for registering for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2025 admission to class VI has been extended by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS). The application deadline, which was originally set for today, has been extended by one week.

By September 23, 2024, interested parents can fill up the admission form. On navodaya.gov.in, the official JNV website, application forms are available.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is renowned as one of the premier government schools in India, providing high-quality education alongside boarding facilities. What makes JNV particularly attractive to parents is the fact that it charges no fees for either tuition or lodging, which positions it as a highly sought-after institution. However, gaining admission is no small feat. The process is extremely competitive, requiring students to clear a rigorous entrance examination. Each year, the number of applicants far exceeds the number of available seats, making it a challenging process.

Eligibility criteria

Students must be enrolled in class V at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in order to be eligible for admission to class VI. Importantly, they are limited to applying to their own district’s Navodaya Vidyalaya. We do not accept applications to schools in other districts. Parents must present their child’s residency certificate as part of the application procedure. It’s also important to remember that pupils may only take the Navodaya Vidyalaya admission test once.

Additionally, students must have completed their classes III, IV, and V in a government, government-aided, or recognized school to be eligible. JNV allocates 75% of its seats for students hailing from rural areas within each district, ensuring representation from less urbanized regions. The remaining 25% of seats are available to students from both urban and rural areas, creating a balanced demographic within the school.

Selection process

Admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is merit-based, and students are selected through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST), a national-level examination. This test is known for its challenging nature, evaluating students on their proficiency in Mathematics, Mental Ability, and their Regional Language. Given the competitive nature of the exam, students must prepare thoroughly to secure a place.
