UPSC CSE Mains 2024: What to Expect From the Upcoming Schedule and Admit Card

The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has started accepting applications for the undergraduate and postgraduate entrance exams. Students can register for admission on the official website until March 30. Eligible students can register online for the entrance exam at jmicoe.in.

The admission exam is slated to begin on April 25. According to the institution, candidates can only submit one form for each programme or combination of programmes, and repeated submissions for the same programme may result in rejection.

Most undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses consider CUET, JEE, and other national-level test scores. The university has declared that online admission forms for courses which need examinations offered by JEE, NATA, and CUET will be available 10 days after the respective agencies announce the results.

Except for BTech, BArch, BDS, and certain other courses, eligible candidates for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes will be admitted based on merit determined by the JMI entrance test. After the entrance test, an interview will be held.

Criteria for Interview

Applicants who score less than 30% in the descriptive portion (if relevant) will be denied admission and an interview. Incorrect answers to objective or multiple-choice questions across all university degrees will result in a 0.25-mark loss. Candidates who score less than 15% on such questions will be excluded from the interview and admission process.

Admission to BTech will be granted to qualified applicants based on their JEE Main 2024 results. Similarly, admission to BArch will be determined by applicants’ NATA 2024 rankings, as performed by the Council of Architecture 2024. Admission to the BDS course will be dependent on performance in NEET 2024.

Seat reservation

Candidates seeking admission under reserved category can apply for reservation under one category only and shall be required to fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions of the programme. Relaxation in minimum prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying examination for admission to a programme shall be permissible only under one relaxation criteria. If a reserved category candidate qualifies the entrance test for admission under the General category, he/she shall be considered under the General category as well as the claimed reserved category.

However, the admission to such candidate shall be given under one category only based on his/her standing in the merit list.
